The Rhody Haven supports children, adults, and families through compassionate wellness programming, clinical services, care coordination, skills groups, and community connection.
Youth & Family Wellness Initiative
A six-month leadership and wellness experience for Rhode Island youth ages 12–17, with family support built in from the beginning.
The program helps young people build confidence, healthy coping skills, leadership, communication, financial knowledge, and a clearer vision for their future. At the same time, parents and caregivers receive Care Navigation, workshops, and help connecting with school, behavioral health, food, housing, transportation, healthcare, maternal health, and community resources.
What Youth Will Experience
Emotional wellness, stress management, healthy coping, confidence, nutrition, hydration, sleep, and personal goals.
Communication, boundaries, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, healthy friendships, and peer pressure.
Strengths, values, cultural identity, leadership styles, self-advocacy, teamwork, and public speaking.
Budgeting, saving, banking, credit, entrepreneurship, grocery planning, and healthy meals on a budget.
College, trade schools, apprenticeships, careers, resumes, interviews, networking, financial aid, and goal setting.
A youth-led service project, reflection, future action plans, family celebration, and graduation.
Older teens may also participate in virtual sessions designed around the transition to adulthood.
Support for the Whole Family
Every participating family is connected with a Care Navigator who helps identify needs, coordinates referrals, follows up, and stays connected throughout the program. Families can receive help navigating school supports and IEPs, behavioral health care, food and housing resources, transportation, healthcare, maternal health, and other community services.
How to Apply
Rhode Island youth ages 12–17 may apply. A diagnosis, IEP, or professional referral is not required. Applications are planned for October and November, selection and notification take place in December, orientation is held in January, and programming begins in March.
Transportation assistance may be requested on the form but is not guaranteed. Families should indicate whether transportation is needed and the city they will be traveling from.
